Jurial Construction hoarding with site safety signs and a traffic cone in front of a house in Hove

Health and safety, all the time, every time

We are committed to making sure health and safety regulations are followed all the time, every time, on every site we run.

Safety planned into every stage

We identify potential hazards, control risk, and plan, organise, monitor and review our health and safety processes throughout every stage of a construction project.

Keeping the working environment as tidy as possible is part of the same job. It protects the safety and comfort of everyone involved, on site and around it.

We expect the same of everyone who works with us, from suppliers to sub-contractors, and we train our own team to keep the standard high.

We work closely with the CITB to ensure our team receives appropriate training and continues to develop their skills and knowledge. We also carry out regular Toolbox Talks to keep our workforce informed of current health and safety practices and site requirements. In addition, our electrical equipment is regularly PAT tested to help maintain a safe working environment and ensure equipment remains fit for purpose.

A cycle that never stops

Health and safety is not a form filled in at the start of a job. These four steps repeat for as long as we are on site.

All the time,
every time
on every site
  1. Identify hazards

Before and during the works we look for anything on site that could cause harm.

  2. Control risk

We put measures in place to remove or reduce every risk we find.

  3. Plan and organise

Safe working is built into the programme, the site set-up and the way each task is carried out.

  4. Monitor and review

We check that our processes are working and review them through every stage of the project.

Health & Safety and CDM Management Policy Statement

  • 1974Health and Safety at Work etc. Act
  • 2015Construction (Design and Management) Regulations

Jurial is fully committed to providing a safe and healthy working environment for all employees, contractors, clients, and members of the public affected by our operations.

We recognise our legal duties under the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974 and the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 (CDM 2015) and treat safety not as a procedural burden, but as an integral pillar of our business management.

We aim to eliminate, reduce, or control all occupational hazards by integrating strict risk management principles into both the design and construction phases of every project we undertake. Jurial are constantly striving to improve their procedures and maintain their excellent safety record.

How we keep our sites safe

The day-to-day habits behind the policy, photographed on our own sites.

  • Jurial Construction branded screening along a site boundary with a traffic cone

    Secure, clearly signed sites

Our sites are fenced or hoarded, screened and signed, with the Jurial board on show so it is clear who is responsible.

  • Scaffolding and orange safety barriers around a building site at a garden centre

    Partners to the same standard

We work alongside our suppliers, sub-contractors and partners to make sure their health and safety procedures are robust and up to standard.

  • Safety data sheet for ready mixed concrete from our COSHH records

    An up-to-date COSHH database

Our Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) database is regularly updated for use on all of our sites.

    Training and apprentices

We provide ongoing training for our workforce and have developed a number of apprentices over the years.
